So there\u2019s bound to be negatives to these two platforms as well.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the cons I\u2019ve found with both Codecademy and Udemy:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"\">Negatives of Codecademy<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>If you\u2019re after a full-on bootcamp experience<\/strong> to maximally level up your career, there\u2019s even more intensive &amp; effective platforms than Codecademy out there (but they\u2019re also much more expensive).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>If you just want to get your feet wet<\/strong> but don\u2019t want to go full on into learning to code right now, the monthly cost might be too much of an investment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>If you\u2019re already quite advanced<\/strong> in your programming skills, many of CC\u2019s courses might not challenge you enough.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>Codecademy\u2019s certificates are not officially accredited<\/strong>, so in some cases they won\u2019t add much value to your resume.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"\">Negatives of Udemy<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>Some of Udemy\u2019s content is outdated<\/strong>, of low quality, or occasionally even a complete rip-off. Before you buy a course, make sure to vet it carefully by checking the reviews. Thankfully Udemy has a generous refund policy \u2013 so in the worst case you\u2019ll have wasted time and effort, but not money.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>Udemy\u2019s certificates aren\u2019t accredited <\/strong>either. Just like Codecademy\u2019s, they only make sense to put on your resume if you\u2019re interviewing for an entry-level position.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>The cost can still add up<\/strong> even though many individual courses are cheap. And if you\u2019re planning to take multiple more involved bootcamps or masterclasses, a Codecademy membership could come out cheaper than spending $60+ each time you start a new program at Udemy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"\"><span style=\"\"><strong>You can\u2019t save the courses for offline training<\/strong>.
