I kinda agree that you should have the passion for the thing, and eventually if you start getting deep into your blogging area, you’ll end up passionate about it anyway (or otherwise try with something else). But at some point, if you decide to be consistent, aren’t your posts becoming tasks waiting to be beaten to completion no matter what?

As a recent graduate of John’s course [still awaiting my certificate :)], I certainly excited about what the future holds . I still wonder if the theme will span too wide of an audience but the sub-domain name which was previously chosen seems apt. I think I’ve plugged it enough on John’s blog, mainly due to to the fact that I’m here very often these days. I will say however that the “code room” will definitely see code this year.

I have to admit, many of the things here I never would have thought of on my own. Its great to get these tips!

I too got started (although very recently) with a blog inspired by John. I really appreciate all the thoughtful work that gets shared here on this blog and in email courses and such, but also in his book.

Its not a very niche blog (like John really wants it to be). I write about big topics like Programming, Productivity and Lifestyle, because these things consume my life and I really really care about them. I am just sharing things as I learn, because that makes it so much more fun to learn 😀

When you have solid blog, people will come and approach you because they know what you are talking about and how skillful you are within this area, so you can name your rate per hour easily.n nYou build list of friends and they really can help you when you are stuck in technical issue, and I guess it will be way easier for you if you are invited to interview, you have solid blog, rich GitHub repository, proof for being helpful and willing to learn always and share it with others.nnnI interview lot of developers at my current role, and the developer with online presence and solid GitHub repo is treated differently, they usually got a better chance than other candidates.
