I’ll certainly do it, just published my first post! Sometimes we don’t write because we tend to be so perfectionists and end up taking too long to finish a post. I good way I found to avoid this was in an website called “Write or Die”. You start writing and if you stop for a few seconds, your screen turns red and the website starts to play lots of of disturbing sounds haha. You should check it out!

Thanks John. Your experience sounds similar to mine. My education was very science and math based and not a lot of literature and writing. It wasn’t until much later that I realized that I plain and simply love to read and write. You have given good advice. It’s time to just “Do the work.”

So true that writing helps organizing your thoughts! It also helps a lot to try to write about a difficult bit of code before coding it, if you can’t explain it to someone in writing you don’t fully understand it.

Great! Glad to hear you are taking the steps.
For a headshot, try to just get a family photographer to do it or you can look in Craigslist. Don’t really need a “professional.” Just someone who has a nice camera and is learning. Even trying to ask someone attending a photography class would be a great way to get one done for free.
