That is a great point about deliberate practice required for mastery (reminds me of something I heard recently that that practice doesn’t makes perfect, but “perfect practice makes perfect”).

However, skepticism is warranted when using the 10,000 hour law; it’s has not been conclusively proven, and some people will tell you it has been refuted. The core of it, that deliberate practice is required for mastery is very important to mention. Learning and mastery are complex subjects, and definitely different people will master certain skills at different rates. People who are interested in this topic should go to the Learning How To Learn course on Coursera, it goes into the neuroscience behind how your brain processes and stores information. Very eye opening course!
