Thanks for reading John!

If journaling doesn’t work for you that’s absolutely fine. From what I gather it’s just what feels comfortable and gets you into the mood. Try something, experiment and see if it helps.

I love the fact that you make time to comment on various other blogs. I haven’t worked this into a routine just yet but it’s a handy thing to do to make sure you’re always keeping your finger on the pulse otherwise we can tend to stray and forget to get involved.

I have the same goal as you. Blog once a week. There are times where I don’t but these are in general few and far between. The important thing is if you do forget to get right back on it!

And you’re absolutely right, most people will start with good intentions and yet stumble within a few days. It’s its own punchline.

I’m no different. Although, I can look back on each year and see that I’ve progressed in at least one area. This year was mostly career and skills development.

I don’t much like journaling but I am committing to daily routines. Here’s what I’m working on this year:

1. Wake Up between 5-6am each day. If I get up early enough, I might be able to knock out this whole list before work.
2. Keep a Food Diary – I have about 70 pounds to lose to get to a healthy weight.
3. Exercise 30 min – I have equipment in my house and plenty of sidewalk. There’s really no excuse for me to not get this done.
4. Practice Sitting Meditation – I’m starting with about 15 min a day.
5. Comment – ‘Making the hang’ with other professionals. Finding articles and blogs online and joining the conversation.
6. Blog 30 min – My content goal is at least one post per week. 30 minutes a day should get me there with room to spare.

I’ll make a point to check back on this post at some future date. See how well I’ve ‘won’ this year. 🙂
