Thanks for the great article John! That’s why I created a blog John to gain deep understanding about Java and OOP, which is my theme on my blog. I really thank you John for your free blogging course.
In my blog, I just started writing about OOP Design Principles. I thought it would be too easy for me to write because I already learned it a while ago but I was wrong. It’s really hard to organize and think for ideas. It just proved that teaching is the key to learning.

That is very true John! On many occasions, have i gained a deeper understanding on a topic when i tried to explain it to him. John I think an alternate approach would be applying what you have learn’t to an application you building without referring to the original source. In the process of building that application, you should ask yourself questions as to why you doing something this way and not otherwise.

I enjoy blogging, doing screencasts and presenting at user groups and conferences because I know it reinforces my own understanding of a topic. In fact, fear of “looking bad” in front of others forces me to spend more time in preparation which improves my own knowledge and makes me a better teacher.
