It is a lever and like all levers it needs a fulcrum, “work harder”, to push against or there will be no return. A lever without a fulcrum is nothing more than a stick lying on the ground.

You have to invest in the basic, foundation of knowledge, skills and experience to be able to multiply those efforts into outstanding results. Without that investment you are multiplying by zero and that result will never be rewarding.

Increase the multiplier and the end result is greater for it. “Work Harder” definitely has its place.

Yep. Amazing advice. I wish I would have had that knowledge like 10 years ago or more.

I started reading this and wow! You are right it does answer this question. Scaling work must NOT be done linearly or you’ll retire old, burnt out in a wheelchair – if ever. Scaling exponentially through automation and other techniques is the way. A million thanks for that!

I’ve been reading a book called: The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime. And I think he answers that question really well. Seems like a scammy book, but trust me, it isn’t. What I fear is chasing a mirage for the rest of my life. I mean, I’ve heard of doctors cutting to part-time because time was worth more than money. When do you call it quits and just get by with your talents, and use the rest of your time for spiritual, health, family, etc growth? Life’s short and I don’t want my last words on my death bed to be I wish I worked less. Don’t get me wrong, I realize retirement is the other side of the coin. Thanks again for the post.

When we love what we do it’s hard to stop, that’s when you should. Our bodies give us indications when we’ve had too much. Stop, push it away and go do something else. I’m one of those people who don’t have a cell phone or worse, Smart Phone. When I leave the computer I leave the Internet. Our rest doesn’t get enough rest.

Yes. I agree, but most people spend many hours at the office, but not actually working. That is more tiring than actually working.

Rest for a short time allows us to come back to the work we love and continue. Telling people to work harder is actually damaging, because some will take you at it! Now I beleive in hard work but not working oneself into the ground 6 feet under.
