Very true Delmania – I don’t think I’ve truly done a full purge of absolutely everything. It IS such a huge barrier. However, I think even if you make some strides towards processing that 100% it’ll enormously benefit your productivity not to mention your organisational skills.

Saying “no” is such an important word. Most people struggle to say “no” to things and overcommit because they don’t want to disappoint people. What they have to realise though is that by saying “no” and making it clear why you’re saying “no” actually means people have more respect for you not less, because they realise that you’re aware you have limits (we are only human), know how much you can accomplish and what you can commit to. It takes a certain kind of person to do that.

However, I’ve always found the best way to maximize your productivity is to learn when to say no to something. That may not work so well with your boss, but you can always rephrase it as “I can work on this, but as a result, these other things will be delayed”/
